Apple’s WWDC20 virtual event will commence June 22nd –5PM GMT

Apple announced on Thursday that its 31st Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2020 will commence Monday, June 22nd. The event will be virtual and will run from June 22nd to June 26th.

According to Apple, the event will include keynote address, Platforms State of the Union, 100+ engineering sessions, all-new Developer Forums, 1-on-1 labs with more than 1,000 Apple engineers, and more. “WWDC20 will be our biggest yet, bringing together our global developer community of more than 23 million in an unprecedented way for a week in June to learn about the future of Apple platforms,” Apple’s Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing, Phil Schiller said in a press release last month.

Apple’s Platforms State of the Union where Apple engineering leaders will dive deeper into the latest advances across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS will start 9pm GMT on June 22nd and will be available on demand exclusively on Apple Developer app and Apple Developer website.

Apple Developer Forums redesign will launch on June 18th, and will connect its developer community with over 1,000 Apple engineers to engage in technical extended communications. The company will also post more than 100 technical and design-focused sessions directed by Apple engineers to help developers learn how to build next generation apps. New videos will be posted each day by 5pm GMT and will be available in the Apple Developer app on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, as well as on the Apple Developer website. Apple will also announce the finalists of its Swift Student Challenge (where student developers can showcase their coding skills by creating their own Swift Playground) on June 26th.

The WWDC20 special event keynote will stream live directly from Apple Park through Apple.com, Apple Developer app, Apple Developer website, Apple TV app, and YouTube on June 22nd by 5PM GMT.
