Netflix new Parental Controls will allow parents filter & PIN-protect contents from kids
Netflix is always trying to make contents that is suitable for everyone be it adult or kids, but sometimes there are some kind of contents parents don’t want their kids to watch, so the company has updated its parental controls to give parents more power over what their children watch on Netflix.
Netflix is now making it possible for parents to password protect individual profiles to prevent their kids from using them. Parents can now filter out individual titles/contents that are not appropriate for their kids based on their country’s ratings. These blocked titles won’t show up at all on that profile account.
It’s now possible for parents to see what kids are watching within the profile created for them, you can also turn off auto-play in kids profiles so they don’t go binging episodes all day long. Lastly parents can also review their kids viewing history.
“Choice and control have always been important for our members, especially parents. We hope that these additional controls will help parents make the right choices for their families.” Netflix’s Kids Product Manager, Michelle Parsons said in a blogpost.
It’s been a long time coming for these additions on Netflix , parents are definitely going to appreciate them even more now that coronavirus has forced everyone to stay home. The new parental controls are now available globally, simply go through to account settings and activate.
